Have honeycomb granite counter tops?

Posted under Home gardening tips | No Comment

I recently went to a home and garden show and saw a product i had never seen before: a thin granite slab on top of honeycomb structure aluminum.

Now I have a bit of a background in materials engineering, and it sounds logical to me.

I am wondering if anyone on here has first/second hand experiance owning it. has it held up so far? How long has it been in place? Any tips?

My brother had his entire kitchen replaced with this and was telling me about it. I'm very much an environmentalist and found the product pretty interesting.

It is called CombCore. There is one company in the US that sells it. My brother got it as an industry insider because he will be writing about it in an upcoming magazine. However, when I mentioned this to him he was surprised because the product wasn't supposed to be available to the public yet. Could ou tell me where you saw it?

The countertop costs 50% of a same surface countertop

Is environmentally friendly and uses 75% less materials

Is incredibly lightweight. It took 4 guys to remove his old countertop. It took one guy to life the CombCore replacement

I asked him for a company website and he said it's at http://www.CombCore.com but I don't see anything there… maybe because it's new the website isn't up yet.
